Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why this site?

I created this site after being asked a thousand times: How do I become an electrician?". Then I started getting the question: "Do you know how I can become a plumber as well?". In conjunction with a team of experienced plumbing lecturers, I have hopefully created a resource that answers your questions.

How long does it take to become an plumber?

As the industry doesn't register plumbers, you can practise as a plumber with minimal qualifications. To complete training to Level 3, which should be your ultimate goal, you should be studying and working towards the qualification within 4 years.

I want to be an plummer[sic] yesterday, can I?

After the '...you can earn £70k a year...' boom, only the best plumbers will continue to work and earn good money. Get qualified quick schemes are ideal for those already in the industry, but most should start with the basic qualification.

Who should I train with?

The local college is a good place to start, there are many individual training providers and also industry bodies themselves. Do some research first, find out exactly what you want and approach a provider armed with this knowledge.

Why the adverts?

To pay for my web hosting. I need about 200 clicks a month to pay for my hosting costs. Go ahead, click through an advert safe in the knowledge you are supporting the future of this website.
